Casino and gambling business contribution data to Pennsylvania has been reviewed.

The study revealed that the revenues in terms of interest from the casino had provided the state with $4.3 million, specifically to contestants who are looking for elections in Pennsylvania.

Research by a good government group identified that nearly 1/4th of 4.3 million has been provided to Governor Rendell and his political committees in the past 7 years. The donors of the funds were casino businesses, who had their shares in one or more businesses of the 14 licensed casinos in the states. This also included a few of the slot machine manufacturers and also a few from the horse-racing industry.

The reports also stated that despite there being a set limit for contributions, they have not followed it. This has taken place despite a ban on such contributions for a period. The contributions were massive enough and beyond limits and they sustained the operation to improve and expand on the casino gambling within the state with very less scrutiny.

There was not a mandated clause about the need to disclose the contributions between the periods of 2002 and 2007. This eventually left the contributions without sufficient proof.

The above study provided a clue to why the gaming industry continued to win in Pennsylvania.

The Common Cause of Pennsylvania was headed and directed Barry Kauffman.

The top recipient of the campaign funds was bagged by Governor Rendell summing to $1 million, between the periods of 2001 and 2008.

Senator Vincent J. Fumo the gambling law personality pinched off $400,900. Rendell’s spokesman Chuck Ardo, remarked “Given that the governor ran for office advocating slots gaming in the commonwealth, it is not surprising that he got significant contributions from people who shared his point of view.”

The Lubert-Adler Management were the top contributors, essentially they had interests in casinos yet to be built in Valley Forge and Pittsburgh. Peter DePaul of Foxwoods Casino in Philadelphia, Louis DeNaples of Mount Airy Casino Resort in the Poconos were others in the top contributor list.
